While 30 Under 30 has come and gone for another year, we’re continuing to celebrate the best and brightest in the industry by doing a roundup of all our talented winners in 2019.

Yesterday, we introduced our sales/account manager winners.

Today, we’re introducing three strategic people who nabbed a coveted B&T 30 Under 30 Award for their work in strategy.

Stay tuned for the stories of the rest of our winners, which we’ll be rolling out for the rest of the week.

You can also see all the winners here and photos from the night here.

Lauren Bray – UM

Boomeranging from Sydney to London and back, Lauren has won plenty of awards, influenced culture, and loved every second of it. From her first and only media subject at UTS, Lauren was hooked. Bray asked her tutor where he worked and she was soon interning at Mindshare within weeks. From there, Lauren progressed from assistant to senior business executive while also receiving her first award nomination, was then selected for the five-person Foxtel overnight transition team and headed Mindshare’s social committee.

In 2015, Lauren relocated to Mindshare London as a planning manager where she won her first three awards at the Beer Marketing Awards and was also a planner in the winning pitch team for 20th Century Fox.

Lauren continued to go from strength to strength in her career, making the 2018 UK Cannes Young Lions shortlist and representing Mindshare at Cannes, which she says is her career highlight to date.

Returning to Sydney in 2018, Lauren joined UM just four months ago as the strategist on Australian Government, an account where she says she has the unique opportunity to influence Australians meaningfully.

Remi Baker – Strategy Director

Remi’s advertising journey started when she was just 15 years old and had the glamorous job of promoting a local coastal zoo (where she had to dress as a penguin). Her adland career started in 2012 at PHD International in London where she started out as an intern before progressing to account manager in two years.

After winning Cannes Young Lions UK and competing at Cannes in 2015, Remi moved into a creative solutions role publisher side where she learnt how to hone her creative skills.

Two years later Remi joined PHD Sydney as a strategy director, leading several accounts including  Google, Audi, Skoda, Unilever and PepsiCo. She has previously been shortlisted for B&T’s Women in Media ‘Rising Star’ award and shortlisted for B&T’s 30 Under 30.

Beyond client work, Remi continues to drive the innovation agenda at PHD. In 2018, she established the PHD Innovation Council, a cross-discipline team responsible for developing innovation frameworks and executing innovation which contributed to PHD being named The Australian Financial Review’s sixth most innovative company in Australia in 2018.

Tom Uhlhorn – Tiny Cx

Tom is the founder and strategy director of Tiny CX, a customer experience design agency specialising in designing scalable customer-centric solutions to help enterprises thrive as larger operations.

Pioneering the CX landscape by applying innovative framework, Tom has helped shape CX industry standards to keep the sector accountable and results-driven. Building this framework involved the creation of the world’s first CX analytics platform, in addition to a voice of customer tool to leapfrog existing user research tools and services. Most recently, Tom created an online school to teach the CX framework called The CX Academy.

He has also worked with the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre in an organisational-wide pro bono capacity to help support and empower people seeking asylum to find stable and meaningful employment. He has mentored students in CX and marketing in addition to speaking at universities and colleges including University of Melbourne, RMIT, Academy Xi and Deakin University. He also initiated Australia’s first and only CX meetup (…so far).

He considers himself to be contemplative, impulsive and efficient and hopes to be instrumental in transforming the way CX is understood.
