Magazines Jump 10 Per Cent In Social Impressions Thanks To Facebook And Instagram

Data released today by Magazines Publishers Australia (MPA) for the quarter ending June 2015 shows magazines’ gross social media impressions increased by 10 per cent (over 1.8 million) vs. the quarter ending March 2015.

The growth has been across all platforms with Instagram and Facebook leading the way at 17 per cent and 10 per cent respectively.

Peter Zavecz Chairman of the MPA said: “Social media is very important to magazine publishers as they are ideal avenues to share the content we have. Twitter provides the immediacy while Instagram and Pinterest  complement it with a rich visual environment.”

Mary Ann Azer, executive director of the MPA, commented on the data: “Magazines are brands that connect across all platforms. Our readers have a deeper meaningful connection with every magazine brand. There is a high level of trust, that’s why they like us and follow us.”
