Liam Fitzpatrick Joins Freelancer.com As Comms Manager For ANZ

Global outsourcing marketplace Freelancer.com has announced the appointment of Liam Fitzpatrick (pictured above) to the in-house role of communications manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Fitzpatrick joins Freelancer after working as a freelance PR professional for three months. Prior to that, he was a senior account director at Ogilvy’s Howorth Communications in Sydney.

Before emigrating to Australia last year, Fitzpatrick spent seven years in agencies, five of which were with B2B agency Propeller PR in London.

Freelancer CEO Matt Barrie said: “It’s a coup to add someone with Liam’s experience to our HQ. The international nature of our business and his tech experience makes him the perfect fit.

“However, his main responsibility will be overseeing the communications and marketing strategies across Australia and New Zealand.

“Liam’s journalistic background was very evident and will be put to good use together with our content team.”

Commenting on his new role, Fitzpatrick said: “Freelancer is a truly global business, meaning as an entrepreneur in Brisbane I could hire a freelance graphic designer in Lagos and wake up to a completed new logo.

“I honestly believe the future is going to be in specialisms, so as the largest freelancing and crowdsourcing marketplace, Freelancer.com is well-positioned.

“Christopher Hitchen’s said, ‘Everyone has one book in them’. Well, Freelancer is on hand for everyone who has that spark of a business idea.”
