Lean Startup Machine to lead 4-day event in Sydney

Lean Startup Machine CEO & Founder Trevor Owens is to lead a 4-day event in Sydney.

New York-based Lean Startup program, Lean Startup Machine (LSM), has announced its return to Sydney in partnership with digital development company, Vivant. Expanding outside its usual perimeters, the event will additionally incorporate a two-day enterprise bootcamp aimed at introducing Lean Startup thinking into the established workplace.

In recognition of the growing ‘intrapreneur’ revolution (those who show an entrepreneurial spark within a business), this year the LSM teaches innovators how to apply startup culture in-house. Taking place between September 4-5, the enterprise bootcamp aims to arm corporate teams with the skills and thinking which helps develop new products and services, all based on the Lean Startup philosophy of creating value with fewer resources.

The flagship LSM public workshop follows the enterprise bootcamp – taking place September 5-7 – with an intense two-and-a-half day workshop teaching aspiring entrepreneurs how to build disruptive products. This event endeavours to instil Lean Startup practices in the startup community, providing a platform to learn, develop and experiment in a heavily inspired environment, under the guidance of industry mentors.

Headlining the event is the LSM CEO and Founder, Trevor Owens, who will be flying in to support both programs, which will tie in with the launch of his new book, Lean Enterprise.

Anthony Farah, CEO of Vivant, said the LSM has always been a great platform for the startup community to invest and trial their initiatives, with this year’s corporate arm providing valuable skills to those businesses that could benefit from applying the Lean Startup methodology.

“Part of Vivant’s company mission is to provide innovative business solutions, so we are keen to partner with Lean Startup Machine for our enterprise event, and sponsor the public event. We are very happy that Trevor will join us to make our enterprise event one of the most talked about this year,” he said.

Vivant is a human-centric design company. The team was also behind the successful mobile experiences Commbank Kaching and RP Data’s RP Lister app, along with Telstra Treats – a geo-targeted mobile loyalty scheme that offers customers localised discounts and deals based on personal preferences.
