Kyle Sandilands Confesses To Being A Sex Addict (And Dee Madigan Plays Spin Doctor) Live On Air

KIIS FM breakfast host Kyle Sandilands shared details about his past sex addiction for listeners this morning, and in front of a well-known adlander.

Sandilands confessed to being a sex addict for two years of his life as part of an on-air segment to see if the radio host could have a future in politics.

The segment was led by former Labor MP-turned-media personality Sam Dastyari, with Campaign Edge founder and ECD Dee Madigan brought in to play the role of spin doctor.

The radio shock jock revealed on-air he was “so depressed and shocked” following his divorce from Tamara Jaber in 2010.

“I didn’t feel like a man, and part of the problem was the sex had dried up and, you know, I thought, ‘I’m going to have to pick up my game in this area,’” he said.

“It’s weird to think back on it, but I think the reason I was a sex addict was because I wanted to prove to myself that I was still a man, and still desired, and that I still desire women and can treat them well.

“Plus, I was addicted to drugs as well.”

Madigan suggested Sandilands should spin his sex addiction as: “If you’re going to do something, do it properly.”

However, Dastyari wasn’t buying the radio host’s reason for becoming a sex addict.

“Your take on your sex addiction is that because you were depressed, so you became a sex addict?” Dastyari said.

“Well, I wasn’t just depressed. I was confused and I was sort of in a weird hole,” Sandilands replied.

But KIIS FM’s Jackie “O” Henderson backed her co-host on this point: “You know what, I do believe that, ‘cause I was there during that time.”

“And it wasn’t full sex addict,” Sandilands added. “I didn’t try to crack on to Jackie or anything. It wasn’t like any hole’s a goal. It was only like models and actresses and singers.”

Henderson also noted that she was pregnant at the time, “so I don’t think he really wanted that”.
