Kangaroo Killer’s Dad Pleads Guilty To Assaulting Cameraman, While Second Attacker Fights Charge
Perth’s Kangaroo Killer’s Father has pleaded guilty to assaulting a tv news cameraman outside court, while a man who attacked a journalist seconds earlier is fighting the charge.
Leslie Thomas Griffin, 56, pleaded guilty to assaulting the cameraman and causing unlawful damage to the camera on January 14 at Joondalup Magistrates Court.
B&T reported on the assault last month where journalists, who were standing outside the court waiting on the verdict of a man accused of torturing and killing a kangaroo, were physically assaulted by supporters of the accused, 22-year-old Dylan Leslie Griffin.
Following Griffin’s sentencing, the accused’s supporters left the court and became violent with journalists and cameramen reporting on the case.
According to the ABC, one supporter pushed and smashed a television camera as he walked past it while yelling “f*** you, you smiling prick” to the man behind it.

The man was then restrained and escorted off the premises, while another physically assaulted and spat on a journalist.
Griffin, who lives in Victoria, had been at court last month to support his son.
The court heard as Griffin was leaving the courthouse on January 14, he barged past members of the media and hit a Channel Seven cameraman.
He will now appear in court on March 6 to be sentenced.
Meanwhile, Mark Musa Bhatti has pleaded not guilting to assault and occasioning bodily harm against another journalist, just seconds before Griffin’s assault.
The 29-year-old allegedly attacked an ABC journalist covering the same case involving Griffin’s son.
