Pocketmath Names New GM For APAC Region

Mobile programmatic ad company Pocketmath has appointed Jono Smith as general manager for the expanded region of Japan, Asia Pacific, Australia and New Zealand.

Based in Melbourne, Smith will be responsible for strategic growth, revenue and team development across the region.

Pocketmath is one of the first and leading mobile advertising platforms for buying media across apps, games and mobile websites in real time. Its 100 percent self-serve demand-side platform (DSP) provides immediate access to the ad exchanges which manage the world’s supply of mobile real-time bidding (RTB) inventory. In Australia, Pocketmath works with a broad spread of clients including trading desks, banking, retail and telecommunications brands.

Speaking on his appointment Smith said: “We all recognise the role of connected devices in our lives and with many publishers now seeing well over 50 per cent of their traffic coming from mobile, and brands dramatically increasing the mobile investment, marketers and media agencies are facing significant challenges to differentiate their brand efforts.

“My focus will be on collaborating with both marketers and agencies throughout the region to help them achieve their marketing goals through mobile, supporting those that are pushing ahead with innovative and creative executions while also encouraging others who need assistance to deploy mobile campaigns.”

Smith has 19 years experience in the advertising industry spanning online and outdoors. He joined Pocketmath in September 2015 from Amobee, where he was national sales director.  Smith has previously worked with News Digital Media, Yahoo7 and ninemsn.
