Jonesy & Amanda Back For Another 3 Years

Jonesy & Amanda Back For Another 3 Years

Australian Radio Network (ARN) has announces that the early morning breakfast show antics on FM station WS FM101.7 are set to continue after Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones and Amanda Keller today renewed their contracts for three more years.

Currently in their ninth year on air together, this has been a stellar year for Jonesy & Amanda. They have been in the top spot for four out of the six 2014 ratings surveys, named outright #1 FM Breakfast team in Sydney three times and joint #1 once with ARN stable mates KIIS 1065’s Breakfast. Meanwhile, WS FM101.7 has taken out the #1 FM station four times, and #2 spot twice.

This also follows the hugely successful rebrand of ARN’s WSFM and GOLD stations as part of the new Pure Gold Network, realigning the stations to the Gen X demographic who are fans of the station, the talent and music.

Jonesy & Amanda said they couldn’t be happier to be back on air at WS FM 101.7 for another three years.

“We have a fantastic audience who join us every day to get their day started on our crazy antics and we couldn’t be happier to continue doing what we love, everyday” said Amanda.

“We’re stoked to be staying for another 3 years. Why would we go, we’re number 1!” added Jonesy.

This exciting news rounds out a hugely successful year for ARN with the company cementing its position as the market leader with consistently strong performances in radio survey ratings across all its markets.

ARN’s Sydney stations WS FM101.7 and KIIS 1065 have claimed the #1 and #2 FM stations in all six ratings results so far this year. ARN stations in Brisbane (93.7 FM), Adelaide (Mix102.3) and Melbourne (GOLD104.3) have regularly claimed the #1 FM station spot in each respective market.

ARN also recently landed a whopping 31 finalist nominations across 21 prestigious categories for the annual Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRAs) which are held this weekend. This includes an exceptional three nominations in the coveted Best On Air team category which Jonesy & Amanda are up for once again, after previously winning the award in 2012.

ARN’s National Content Director Duncan Campbell said he was delighted that Jonesy & Amanda will be on WSFM breakfast for the three more years.

“Jonesy & Amanda are one of the best breakfast radio shows in Australia and I’m really pleased that they will continue to bring the laughs to WSFM each and every morning,” he said.

“At ARN this year we are focused on investing in our talent and ensuring that we create the best possible content and entertainment for our audiences. Jonesy & Amanda are loved by their extremely loyal audience and they are looking forward to taking their show to another level next year in what will be their 10th year together.”

ARN’s Chief Executive Ciaran Davis said this year of wins was just the start for ARN.

“It’s certainly been an exceptionally fantastic year for ARN. Our investment in talent, marketing and great content has resulted in strong growth for the entire company and it has been a key driver in our ratings success and new commercial opportunities for our clients,” he said.

“This year of wins across the entire network has only strengthened our resolve to continue to invest in our people, find new ways to bring our clients the best integration opportunities and continue to grow our offering across the network.

“Jonesy & Amanda play an enormous part in ARN’s success and we’re delighted that they’re here to stay.”
