iStock by Getty Images, the original resource for superior royalty-free stock imagery and video sourced from the crowd, has announced it is to stage Australia’s first ever iStockalypse photography summit in Sydney.

The event will bring together a select group of local and global photographers and videographers for three days of intense photography workshops, seminars and practical application including specially sourced shoots across the city.

Held at the iconic Bondi Bowling Club the iStockalypse Sydney will run from 6th – 8th November 2015.

Photographers and videographers are invited to attend the event, where Getty Images’ creative team will provide proprietary information on current visual trends and local customer content needs and create a forum in which contributors and staff can share advice on how to succeed as commercial photographers and videographers.

“We are excited to be bringing iStockalypse to Australia for the first time,” said Rebecca Swift, director of creative planning, iStock by Getty Images, who will be in Sydney for the event.

“The iStockalypse events are about bringing artists together and sharing the knowledge, passion and information necessary to create great commercial imagery. Our iStockalypse workshop will help us engage more local photographers and videographers and help us to deliver even more locally-produced content to our customers here in Australia and also around the world.”

The iStockalypse was first held in 2005 as an official multi-day iStock photography event. Several times a year, contributing artists from the international iStock community come together to collaborate, share knowledge, and exchange tricks of the stock imagery trade. Under savvy expert guidance, beginners and seasoned professionals get to share what they know and create standout images with old and new friends. Since the first event in Las Vegas, iStockalypse has visited Berlin, Seattle, Boston, Ljubljana, Prague, Austin, Barcelona, Marseilles, Buenos Aires, Malta, Calgary, Istanbul, Cannes, Dubai, London, Hong Kong, Sao Paulo, Paris, Milan, Tokyo and Copenhagen.

“Whether you already shoot for iStock or Getty Images, or you’re new to the stock photo world, this is an opportunity to learn how to create better work, take your skills to the next level and learn more about how to earn more with your video and photography. I would encourage any budding photographers to attend the iStockalypse Sydney,” added Swift.

Photographers, illustrators and videographers can purchase a ticket for the event here.
