iPhone still creates frenzy for faithful

Sydney man Jimmy Gunawan, who describes himself as an experimental CG artist, an animator, a photographer, a life observer and a scholar of nature, has become the first person in Australia to buy an Apple 5s. Based on the extensive reviews available on the web, he’s not, however,  the first person to lay his hands on one.

Apple’s annual great new hope, the launch has been somewhat marred by yet another disastrous software update. Twitter has been alive with complaints from people who’ve had trouble downloading iOS7 to their phones or iPad. This has been further exacerbated by security flaws in the system.

Nonetheless, queues at Apple's George St store in Sydney started on Wednesday and at last check were still 500 strong as people waited to get their hands on the latest iteration of the Jesus phone.

Perhaps the most hilarious part of Apple’s launch has been the ambush advertising Samsung and Nokia have engaged in during the launch. Any article on websites reviewing the new iPhone have been completely surrounded by ads for the competition phones.
