Independent Regional Agency Rebrands Their Local Icon

Ballina-based creative agency Barefruit Marketing are celebrating their latest client rebrand and TVC campaign for the Ballina RSL.

The TVC is the culmination of 15 months’ work, resulting from the development of a strategic marketing plan and a rebrand and focuses on the Ballina RSL’s “all-in” offering.

The ad showcases the RSL’s appeal to a vast range of audiences by highlighting everything that is available under one roof.

It also cleverly picks out the words “all-in” that appear in its place name Ballina.

Barefruit Marketing was founded in 2012 and are proud to be working with local brands, as well as attracting attention from national brands outside of their local area.

Barefruit’s branding and strategy director, Jo Schultz said: “We were really excited when we received this brief, not only to be considered by the RSL but also to work on such an iconic brand.

“The project was a team effort from the start, with the input and experience from the RSL’s management team coupled with our seasoned creatives and strategists we have delivered a marketing plan, TV commercial – featuring many of the agency and their children – and a whole re-brand.”

Schultz added: “This is what I love about working with an independent agency.

“We are an experienced bunch of international talent from major agencies who can bring this knowledge to great brands such as the Ballina RSL, working smart and getting the most out of budgets.”

Barefruit are passionate about laying solid foundations for brands to grow from.

Schultz continued: “If you want to create a unique brand with longevity, there is a lot of groundwork to be done beforehand. We don’t just “whip up a logo,” states Landor trained Schultz.

“The management team at the RSL embraced this understanding, participated in workshops and invested in research to ensure that their new look was right for their direction and delivered a brand promise.”

Ballina RSL CEO, Bill Coulter said: “This was a major undertaking for the RSL.

“Working with the Barefruit team we now have a marketing plan, fresh and exciting new brand and a TVC managed and produced by Barefruit and shot by Rest Your Eyes to let our community and visitors know what we have to offer.

“All in under 15 months. We are really proud of the end result”.

Schultz finished: “As a visitor to the RSL you will now know there is something for everyone.

“Great service, location and value. Hence the brand promise of ‘All In’. ‘All In Ballina’ RSL. Only the RSL can own that.”
