Independant Media Agency Slingshot Makes Two Hires

To handle a recent burst of new business wins, independent full service media agency Slingshot has announced two new hires Within the group.

John Principe, social media manager and Timo Waldbuesser, group business director have joined Slingshot.

The new hires further support our business approach by ramping up the already extensive experience we have within the agency.

“We are going through a sustained growth phase which started earlier in the year when we won the SPC Ardmona account and opened a Melbourne office, it’s pretty bloody exciting for both the team and our clients as we expand our team and services,” said Simon Rutherford, CEO of Slingshot.

Principe comes with a wealth of social media experience, most recently managing supermarket giant, Woolworths’ massive community of over 680,000 fans.  He has worked agency side prior to his role at Woolworths. With both media agency and client side experience, Principe’s skills will be utilised to manage the 1 million plus fans that Slingshot manages on behalf of its clients.

Waldbuesser has spent 12 years with award-winning communications agencies and media consultancies. He has a broad range of experience having worked on Volkswagen, P&G, Diageo, HP, Ferrero, Pfizer and many other category-leading brands. Prior to joining Slingshot, Waldbuesser held various director roles at MediaCom, PHD and Mindshare in both Sydney and London. Timo is known for his passion for client servicing excellence, collaboration with partner agencies and putting strategic thinking at the heart of communications solutions.
