Ikea Begins $600 Million Global Media Review

Media agencies will no doubt be salivating with news Ikea has launched a global media review.

The Swedish furniture company with the sometimes indecipherable instructions has confirmed the process is underway in a statement.

“Ikea is currently in the process of reviewing its media agency suppliers globally,” the statement said, per US trade publication AdWeek.

“This is a part of our commitment to the ongoing improvement of our media and marketing governance. Ikea periodically evaluates all marketing service suppliers to ensure we maintain the best working relationships with the best agency partners.”

Reports per AdAdge and AdWeek suggest the media account is worth to be around $US444 million (roughly $AUD600).

In Australia, Match Media has held the account since 2003.

The reports say the global creative account is not going into review. Over here, The Monkeys have the creative account.
