HT&E’s Ben Pellow Joins Seventh Street Media As Commercial Director

Aussie publisher Seventh Street Media (SSM) has announced the appointment of Ben Pellow as its commercial director.

Pellow joins Josh Burrows (partnerships manager) and Tom Sigelski (commercial partnership manager) on SSM’s commercial team, who have been working direct with brands to tell their stories through music.

The team has successfully crossed over to work with clients in consumables, hardware, software and events.

Pellow was previously at Here, There & Everywhere, where he worked on digital properties across both Australian Radio Network and Conversant Media.

SSM chief executive Luke Girgis said: “Our firm belief is that brands should be the creators of original content, not the ads before or after.

“This way the audience win, as they get better, high-quality content that isn’t interrupted by advertising, and brands win as they develop a real relationship with their customer.

“Emotion drives consumer behaviour more than any other factor, and music is the most emotional art form, so we are uniquely positioned to offer our brands and partners unprecedented influence and access to market.”

Commenting on his appointment, Pellow said: “The success that SSM has achieved already this year is a clear example of the market’s hunger for deeper connections with Australian audiences.

“I am excited to help grow a business that is uniquely positioned to service brands, agencies and consumers with the best possible experience.”

Pellows hire follows the rapid growth of SSM in 2017, moving from four staffers to 17 within the last nine months, with a number of recent internal promotions including the appointment of Nathan Jolly as news director and Brandon John as campaign manager.
