History Will Be Kind Drives Growth With New Business Director

Creative communications agency History Will Be Kind (HWBK) is looking to drive its next wave of growth with the appointment of Edwina Brook to the role of business director.

Stepping up from her former position as senior account director, Brook will work closely with managing partner and founder, Emma-Jane (EJ) Granleese, to evolve the award-winning agency’s offer while continuing to raise the bar in delivering high impact integrated communications programs and leading the team across Sydney and Melbourne.

EJ said the move was a no-brainer, with Brook having played a critical role in the success of HWBK over the past three years.

“Brook is a crucial part of our business and a true ‘unicorn’ – a stellar communications operator, people manager, strategic and creative thinker, with an entrepreneurial spirit.

“She has been fundamental to driving phenomenal team and client growth for HWBK, and we are thrilled to see her take on this senior business leadership position.”

Brook has a stellar track record in delivering business and client results, and has been responsible for leading clients including ICC Sydney, Nestle and Google, alongside spearheading game-changing work such as the multi-award winning Stop the Horror, in collaboration with Go Gentle Australia and Cummins&Partners.

Speaking of her appointment, Brook said: “At the core of HWBK is our collective hunger to make a mark, and create moments in history for our clients.

“We’ve worked extremely hard to build the brand, partner with inspiring organisations across sectors, and create a unique and high performing culture over the past few years.

“But we will never settle, and I’m excited to be helping shape the future of History with EJ and the team.”

Brook’s promotion comes on the back a string of successes, including winning B&T’s 30 under 30 PR category, alongside numerous agency and campaign-led accolades, including a Cannes Gold Lion for Stop the Horror.

HWBK is proudly part of a five-agency collective, the Deepend Group, an independent, digital communications and innovation consultancy group.

The portfolio includes Deepend (Digital), How To Impact (Innovation), Nomad (Emerging Tech), History Will Be Kind (Communications) and VERSA (Australia’s first enterprise level Voice Experience agency) delivered in partnership with RAIN.
