GPY&R Brisbane Appointed Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Creative Services Agency

Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC) Chairman Peter Beattie was pleased to announce today the appointment GPY&R Brisbane as GC2018’s Official Creative Services Agency.

Fiona Caird, GPY&R Brisbane general manager, said her entire team are proud to be part of the biggest event in Australia this decade. Caird said: “For us there is huge excitement in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to support world-class sporting talent, capture the attention of a worldwide audience and raise awareness of the Commonwealth Games like never before.

“The 2018 Games will leave a lasting legacy not only for the Gold Coast but for the whole of Queensland and this country.”

The Creative Services Agency’s primary charter is to develop campaigns that maximise public awareness and spectator participation in the Games.

GOLDOC Chairman Peter Beattie said the appointment was a critical piece in ensuring the national promotion of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

“With less than two years to go until the 4 April 2018 Opening Ceremony, we are entering a very exciting phase in the delivery of the Games,” Mr Beattie said.

“Over the next twelve months we will launch our Ticketing, Volunteer, Merchandise and Queen’s Baton Relay programs which will all rely heavily on creative, eye-catching initiatives and, most importantly, campaigns that motivate people to get involved.

“The creative behind all of these campaigns will be critical to their ultimate success and it is wonderful that we are in such good hands with the team at GPY&R Brisbane.”

GPY&R Brisbane Executive Creative Director Brendan Greaney said being involved in GC2018 will be a nostalgic experience for him. “I’m old enough to remember the excitement of the Brisbane 1982 Commonwealth Games. So for us to now sponsor GC2018 as an Official Supplier is hugely exciting.”

GPY&R Brisbane is part of a global network of 186 Y&R agencies.

The Brisbane office will be the lead office for the GC2018 Games, with additional support provided by GPY&R offices in Melbourne, Sydney and New Zealand.

The Group provides creative solutions across all disciplines including brand architecture, campaigns, corporate design, activations, promotions, DM, CRM, digital, mobile, social, shopper marketing and retail.
