GOA Partners With Australian Women In Power To Inspire Queensland

LOWD, an initiative of GOA, partnered with a number of Australian women in power to celebrate International Women’s day.

The likes of Brisbane Broncos Captain, Ali Brigginshaw, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and many more dedicated their time to pass on an inspiring message of hope, insight and empowerment to the women of Queensland via the LOWD online platform—these messages were displayed via the entirety of GOA’s dynamic digital network on Friday.

Accompanying the Premier and Brisbane Broncos Captain Ali Brigginshaw is the CEO of NRA, Dominique Lamb, LNP Leader, Deb Frecklington, Brisbane Museum Director, Renai Grace and QLD Firebirds Captain, Gabi Simpson. Together, they will continue to spread a unified message of support, whilst also revealing some of their personal struggles along the way:

Premier, Annastacia Palaszczuk
“It’s not the shoes you stand in, it’s what you stand for.”

LNP Leader, Deb Frecklington
“Grasp opportunities when you can and don’t look back.”

Brisbane Broncos Captain, Ali Brigginshaw
“As a little girl it felt impossible and now it’s a dream come true.”

QLD Firebirds Captain, Gabi Simpson
“I am grateful to be surrounded by women who embrace me for who I am.”

CEO of NRA, Dominique Lamb
“We grow into what we can see – we need more women in leadership.”

Museum of Brisbane Director, Renai Grace
“Female artists are fiercely independent, adventurous and often overlooked.”

Former Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Sallyanne Atkinson
“Life is a long series of transitions; challenging and exciting.”

Deb Langham, chief financial officer at GOA said that “Balance is always better” and that we all have a role to play in tackling inequality:

“We believe that a balanced talent base is best for business. Whether it’s the leadership team, administrative teams, or the sales force; differences in gender, sexuality, experience, ethnicity, age and background bring a rich mix to the way we do business.

There is no better time to leverage the positive gains women are making, we all have a role to play and being a gender-balanced company makes us a stronger and ready to tackle the future in a challenging environment.

We want to spread the message and encourage other businesses to see what we see within our own organisation.”
