Getty Images Launches New Creative Function And Updates iOS App

Getty Images, an American stock photo agency, today unveils an innovative new ‘Boards’ feature that enables creatives to seamlessly curate, share and discuss Getty Images’ image and video content. Boards are available now on gettyimages.com and via the updated and redesigned Getty Images iOS app, which also launches today.

Developed with insight drawn from extensive customer research, Boards replaces Getty Images’ Lightbox functionality and offers a intuitive curation experience that is both simple and fast. Creative teams can collaborate directly through the tool to review images and videos from Getty Images’ vast content library, store their projects, and share them with external clients using a shared link.

“In today’s always-on global economy, media and creative professionals collaborate with peers and clients who are just as likely to be across the world, as across the office,” said Steve Heck, chief technology officer at Getty Images. “A true collaboration tool, Boards create a dynamic platform to bring your projects to life using the world’s best imagery. By establishing seamless workflows, Boards ensure creatives can capitalise on ideas and opportunities at any time, working across various devices, wherever they may be.”

Also launching today is the updated and redesigned Getty Images iOS app, which now includes Boards. The updated app includes browsable galleries of premium creative and editorial content and enables users to find and follow their favourite photographers. Images can now be shared legally and at no cost via iMessage, in addition to email and social networks via Getty Images embed tool.

“Customers are telling us they love the Getty Images iOS app and they primarily use it to search and select images for use in their creative projects. Inspiration can strike anywhere and the updated app makes it even easier to view the latest from our collection and share and follow your favourite images, photographers and trends, wherever you happen to be working,” said Heck.

The new app is available on iPhone 4S, iPad 3 and higher devices, as well as iOS8 compatible devices. The Getty Images iOS app can be downloaded for free from the iTunes App Store today. The updated Getty Images iOS app follows the recent update to the iStock by Getty Images iOS apps and the launch of Stream, Getty Images’ free app for consumers to view and share the world’s best photography.
