Clementine Ford Heads To The ABC After Fiery Exits From The SMH & The Age

Following her sensational exit from SMH and The Age last week, columnist Clementine Ford has taken on new work at the ABC.

Ford announced in a tweet over the weekend that she has been commissioned to pen a four-part ABC Life series, and also contribute to Schwartz Media’s The Saturday Paper.

In a lengthy Twitter rant last week, Ford announced she would no longer be writing for SMH and The Age, writing “Fairfax is dead”.

One tweet said in 2018 management reprimanded her for a derogatory tweet about Scott Morrison and later made an official policy that disrespecting the PM was not allowed.

Ford also said she wasn’t the only writer to have pieces lambasting competitors tossed back.

She further claimed James Chessell, then-Fairfax group executive editor and former Joe Hockey staffer, was protecting the Liberal party.
