Music streaming giant Spotify has announced the appointment of Jane Huxley (pictured above) as its managing director for Australia and New Zealand.

Working across blue chip organisations such as Microsoft, Vodafone, Fairfax, and most recently, Pandora, in Australia and internationally, Huxley has had roles spanning systems engineering, sales, marketing, channel management, CEO and managing director.

As Spotify’s ANZ managing director, Huxley will be partnering with all functional leads in the region to develop and execute a strategic plan that combines the company’s global efforts with the nuances of the local markets.

Stefan Blom, chief content officer at Sportify, said: “For more than 25 years, Jane has built a career based on innovation, media, technology and disruption, and is a respected and awarded business leader.

“Jane is an impressive addition to Spotify, and we have every confidence in her ability to lead our very successful Australian and New Zealand business through the next phase of growth.”

Huxley will join Spotify on Friday 1 September, after the company recently confirmed the lease of two floors at One Wharf Lane (part of the Hyatt Regency development), where it will relocate its Sydney headquarters later this year.
