The “French 9/11”: TV Host Forced To End Notre Dame Fire Interview Following Outrageous Comment

A Fox News TV host was forced to quickly end an interview about the Notre Dame fire following commentary from a guest who called the fire the “French 9/11”.

The comment follows a huge YouTube blunder this morning where the video sharing platform accidentally linked the French disaster to the 9/11 attacks.

After the fire broke out, a live stream video was quickly uploaded to Youtube.

YouTube’s algorithm then placed a descriptive link of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack under the video, which was eventually removed, but not before keen-eyed viewers caught the massive error.

In a statement, YouTube said: “We are deeply saddened by the ongoing fire at the Notre Dame cathedral.

“These panels are triggered algorithmically and our systems sometimes make the wrong call. We are disabling these panels for live streams related to the fire.”

However, it didn’t take long before conspiracy theorists emerged into mainstream media.

Fox News in the US accidentally aired comments from a conspiracy theorist who called the fire the “French 9/11”, while also claiming the “politically correct will try to tell you this is an accident.”

The guest, Philippe Karsenty, was also mistakenly introduced as an “elected official”.

In fact, Karsenty is a known conspiracy theorist who was once sued for defamation after suggesting a French TV network altered an image of the killing of a child in Gaza.

Fox News host Shepard Smith was quick to end the interview, telling viewers: “No, sir, we’re not doing that here, not now, not on my watch.”

He later added: “The man on the phone with us has absolutely no information of any kind about the origin of this fire, and neither do I.”
