Carat Launches Industry Project With RMIT

Carat is working on a project with Melbourne-based university RMIT, offering students industry immersion and providing a true insight into their future job prospects through the ‘Carat Experience Project’.

The four week program, developed for students of RMIT’s Diploma of Advertising, involves a half-day immersion at the agency and a fully integrated media project as part of the coursework.  The project involves students responding to a real brief, which will be judged by a panel of RMIT and Carat staff.

Importantly, three winning students are offered work experience at Carat, to bring their learnings to life and receive genuine on the job training.

Sally Parrott, program manager – advertising and public relations at RMIT said: “RMIT prides itself on taking a vocational approach to our curriculum, ensuring that our graduates enter the workforce with their best foot forward.  Being able to work with innovative companies like Carat enables us to maintain this reputation for sending the best talent out into the market.”

“We are really looking forward to what this program delivers both for our students, and for the industry as a whole.”

Joseph Pardillo, general manager of Carat Melbourne, said: “This project was established with the goal of growing students’ understanding of the finer details of media agency life, and has the dual benefit of providing Carat with unrivalled access to a genuine pipeline of the future talent of the media industry.”

“We feel very privileged to have the opportunity to help show students what media agency life is really like.  It’s also a great opportunity for us to give back to the university where so many of our staff went.”
