Carat CEO Paul Brooks Resigns

Carat CEO Paul Brooks Resigns

Paul Brooks, CEO of Carat Australia and New Zealand, has departed the media agency after less than two years in the role.

Brooks was named Carat’s chief in September 2016, taking over the reins from Simon Ryan, who became Dentsu Aegis Network’s ANZ boss.

In a statement provided to B&T, a Carat spokesperson said: “After more than five years at Dentsu Aegis Network, Paul Brooks has resigned from his position, as Carat CEO Australia and New Zealand, effective immediately.”

Speaking on the news, Brooks said: “I would like to thank Dentsu Aegis Network and Simon Ryan for the opportunities and roles that have presented in my time here and I wish them all the best for the future.

“I believe now is the right time for me to pursue new opportunities and take some time off to consider my next move.”

Carat added: “The Carat executive team will take responsibility for the businesses strategy and direction, in the short term, reporting to DAN ANZ CEO Simon Ryan.”

Ryan commented: “We would like to thank Paul for his commitment and service over the past five years and wish him all the best for the future.”

Brooks joined Carat in April 2014 as its national head of investment, before becoming the president of Amplifi in Australia and New Zealand 10 months later, and then moving back to Carat for the plum leadership role.

According to Carat, an announcement regarding the new Carat CEO ANZ will be made imminently.

The departure of Brooks comes more than nine months after Carat’s Sydney managing director, Dan Sinfield, left the agency for Facebook.
