BBC Reporter Falls Into Pool Interviewing Commonwealth Games Swimmers

A BBC reporter has valiantly soldiered on after suffering the indignity of falling into a swimming pool while interviewing members of England’s Commonwealth Games swimming team.

Presenter Michael Bushell was attempting a live chat with four of the swim team’s medallists at their Gold Coast accommodation when he missed a step in the pool and plunged into the water.

“Congratulations,” he told the swimmers before slipping and saying: “Whoops, I didn’t see the step.”

Still, in stoic British fashion, Bushell retained his composure and continued on with the interview despite the swimmers themselves being in hysterics.

Back in the UK, many BBC viewers admired Bushell’s composure. “Awesome TV, sending millions off laughing to work @mikebushell he’s my hero!” was just one of the incident’s many tweets. Check out the disaster below:
