“I Have Tremendous Respect For Women”: Bachelorette’s ‘Dirty Jess’ Breaks Down On Live Radio

The Bachelorette‘s “villain” Jess Glasgow has broken down on live radio following his controversial stint on the show, as the mayor of Noosa asked him to resign from his job as a councillor.

Glasgow quickly earned himself the title of this seasons villain after his “offensive”, “crude” and “misogynistic behaviour” on the show, which premiered Wednesday night.

He was swiftly booted off the show last night by this years’ bachelorette Angie Kent after he was caught on camera multiple times making inappropriate comments.

Following Glasgow’s behaviour, Noosa council released a statement that said the Office of the Independent Assessor was investigating the councillor.

The statement also said Glasgow didn’t seek approval to go on the show and the mayor only found out about his involvement in the show after it was recorded.

Speaking to Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa this morning, Noosa mayor Tony Wellington confirmed he asked Glasgow to resign.

He told the radio hosts over the phone: “That sort of offensive, crude misogynistic behaviour is just not on,” he told the radio show.

“He can’t be fired but I tell you I’ll be speaking with Jess about his future on the council. I don’t see that he has a future on his council.

“I’m very deeply upset. I watched it with my wife, she found it very offensive as most women I assume would. He’s not young, he’s in his late 30s so he should know better.

“I spoke to him this morning and I told him that my recommendation was that he resign from his position. He’s under the belief that he can brave it out.”

Glasgow spoke to Fitzy and Wippa straight after mayor Wellington and “sincerely apologised” for his actions on the show.

He said: “It’s been a terrible 24 hours. As you can imagine, it’s World War III.

“Absolutely I cringed, it’s not me at all, it’s reality TV. I sincerely apologise, I never ever meant to have those words come out that way.”

Glasgow said he wouldn’t resign from his job as a Noosa councillor, saying he was just trying to be “fun and jovial” on the show.

Fitzy and Wippa said Glasgow sounded “shattered” to which he replied: “I’m drinking my coffee sitting in office and my hand hasn’t stopped shaking. I just feel sick.”

Glasgow also spoke to Kyle and Jackie O this morning. He said: “I took it too far and I totally made poor judgment.

“I have tremendous respect for women. I have my dear old 84-year-old grandma who I take out every week … my mum left when I was born and Dad raised me here with no siblings.”

Glasgow told Kyle and Jackie O he received a call from the mayor this morning asking him to resign.

Kent, however, has told Kyle and Jackie O that Glasgow should not lose his job over his actions but said she hopes he “learns from it.”

In last night’s episode, Glasgow said to Kent: “Don’t mind if I get some wandering fingers,” while in another scene when telling a contestant off from not trying to kiss Kent, “I would have just grabbed that sweetie and laid one on her,” he said. “I’ve kissed plenty of girls and they’ve turned their heads before. I’m used to it.”

It’s not just Kent that found his actions appalling, as other contestants on the show called him a “creep” and “sleaze”.

Later in the show when contestants told Glasgow Kent wanted to chat with him about his behaviour, he said: “Bring it on bitch.”
