Award-Winning TV Exec Pleads Guilty To Assaulting Wife

A Walkley Award-winning TV executive has pleaded guilty to assaulting his wife after being arrested earlier this week.

Sky News Australia executive editor Rob Raschke (pictured above) gave his guilty plea at Downing Centre Local Court in Sydney yesterday, The Daily Mail reported.

Court papers detail that Raschke was charged with assaulting wife Rachel (pictured above) early on Saturday morning, after being arrested on Tuesday night.

Raschke is also under an apprehended violence order that forbids him from going near his wife for at least 12 hours after consuming alcohol or illicit substances, according to The Daily Mail.

The Australian reported that Raschke had taken voluntary leave after the incident, with Greg Byrnes to step in as acting executive editor at Sky News.

Raschke has been the executive editor of Sky News since February 2016. Prior to that, he held a number of senior news roles at the Seven Network.

He will be sentenced on Wednesday 11 April.
