AMI Appoints Darren Woolley As Chair, Succeeding Graham Wright

The Australian Marketing Institute has appointed managing director of strategic agency TrinityP3 Darren Woolley as chair of the institute, succeeding Graham Wright.

B&T Editorial Board member Woolley said: “I am honoured to be elected Chair and look forward to an exciting period ahead as we embark on an ambitious strategy to increase membership and continue our work in building the profile of the marketing profession.

“I look forward to working with fellow Board members and Lee Tonitto, CEO.  There are huge challenges ahead to be overcome, but with the talent of the Board and a capable management team there is a new capacity to achieve our new goals.

“The Board would like to thank Graham for his continuing contribution and service to the AMI as a Board Member and previously as a State Councillor.  We particularly acknowledge his hard work in implementing the new governance model.”

Immediate past chair Wright said: “The intention was to inject new ideas and fresh perspectives to the AMI driven by member elected directors.  Darren is the first member-elected Director to be elected Chair by the Board and leads a well-balanced team keen to deliver on this promise of an exciting future.  I look forward to continuing to contribute to the Board, providing continuity and support.”

AMI CEO Lee Tonitto said: “Darren Woolley was directly elected to the Board by members in September 2014.  With his background as analytical scientist and creative problem solver, Woolley brings unique insights and learnings to the AMI Board.”
