Amber Harrison: “I Am Not A Whore Or A Money Grabber”

Amber Harrison: “I Am Not A Whore Or A Money Grabber”

Amber Harrison has kept up her media appearances following her court room loss to Seven on Monday, yesterday appearing on ABC Radio Melbourne where she said she was nothing like the person she’d been portrayed as by the media or by Seven’s lawyers, adding, “I am not a whore and I am not a money grabber”.

In an interview with Libbi Gore (which you can listen to in full here) Harrison again revealed the personal torment of her public battles with Seven following the fallout from her affair with CEO Tim Worner dating back to 2014.

It follows a stinging assessment of the ongoing saga in News Corp media yesterday where Harrison was described as a “serial predator of married men“.

Despite a court-ordered gag preventing Harrison from talking about the actual affair or her dealings with Seven, Harrison (who B&T noted had deleted her Twitter account yesterday) appears happy to talk about the impact, fallout and her subsequent media exposure.

Harrison used the interview to again attack Seven and its formidable legal team and deep pockets, again suggesting it gave her no chance of winning her lengthy courtroom battle with Seven West Media.

When asked if Harrison recognised the person she’d been portrayed in court and in the media, she responded: “No, nor have the people who love me. I never lost sight of who I am. I am not a whore and I am not a money grabber and those aren’t the reasons I did this.

“It doesn’t matter what other people say about me, they can’t define me… they can call me names and that’s what we’ve seen.”

Gore added that Harrison’s affair with Worner wasn’t her first with an “older and powerful man in a significant position” (Harrison also had an affair with NOVA exec Paul Jackson in 2011) to which Harrison responded: “But that’s what the trial was, the character assassination of Amber Harrison.”

Harrison added: “I don’t think anyone in the country could withstand the kind of scrutiny my life has been under. You can’t withstand this kind of scrutiny.

“Pick anyone’s life apart, and my private life has been hauled over by private investigators, by some of the best, the most brutal lawyers in the country and, yeah, there are flaws and I’ve made mistakes but to hold those up as the absolute essence of who I am and make them a justification of what I’ve been through is wrong,” Harrison said.

Gore asked Harrison if she were to write a book about her experiences, what would its hypothetical title be, to which Harrison answered, “It’s Time To Heal”.

“I don’t think at anytime of this experience I’ve introduced myself to anyone as, ‘Hi, I’m Amber Harrison and I’m a victim’ until the system was clearly against me and clearly I could not get a break in the legal system and that’s where I became a victim.

“Everything else I made active decisions to get where I am and there’s a lot of talk, ‘She’s not a victim’ and I agree with that, I am not a victim of a relationship, but I am a victim of the system, the powerful versus the individual,” she said.
