ABC702 Beats Out Kyle & Jackie O In Sydney Brekkie Radio War

While 2GB continues to retain its place as the most listened to breakfast radio station, ABC702 has managed to just beat out KIIS1065 by 0.1 per cent in Sydney, according to the latest GfK radio ratings survey.

The third survey of the year shows, in Sydney brekkie radio (6-9am), Kyle & Jackie O from Australian Radio Network’s KIIS1065 have dropped 0.2 per cent since the last survey, now in third place, with Jonesy & Amanda from ARN’s WSFM coming in fourth place, having risen by 0.2 per cent.

In the drive timeslot (4-7pm), KIIS1065 with Hughsey & Kate easily took out first place with 11.3 per cent, up 1.3 per cent from the previous survey.

Where it had previously been in first place in drive, NOVA Entertainment’s NOVA969 with Kate, Tim & Marty dropped to second place with 9.4 per cent, down 2.1 per cent from Survey 2. 2GB came third with 8.7 per cent.

Melbourne

In breakfast radio Macquarie Radio Network’s 3AW nabbed first place again with a 19.0 per cent share, and ABC774 retained second place with 14.1 per cent.

Triple M took out third place with 9.2 per cent, a rise of 0.6 per cent since the previous survey.

In drive radio, the order of radio stations was relatively similar. 3AW won again despite dropping 0.7 per cent from the last survey with 11.8 per cent this time around, and ABC774 took second with 13.2 per cent.

FoxFM hit 1019 managed to just scrape into third place with 8.4 per cent, just in front of ARN’s KIIS101.1 which had 8.3 per cent.

Brisbane

The Sunshine State’s brekkie radio was relatively close according to the latest survey. ARN’s station 97.3FM, with Robin, Terry & Bob, took out first place with 13.6 per cent, unchanged numbers from previous survey.

NOVA106.9 took second place (hosted by Ash, Kip & Luttsy) with 12.7 per cent, up 1.0 per cent since the second survey.

ABC612 had previously been in first place, but dropped 1.1 per cent in this survey to 12.6 per cent, meaning the station came third in the survey.

And in drive, NOVA 106.9 took first place (14.4, up 0.7) – hosted by Kate, Tim & Marty – 97.3FM, hosted by Hughsey & Kate, came second with 13.4 (down 0.8), and hit 105.3 came third with 10.3, up 0.1 from last survey.

ABC720 won the second survey in the brekkie radio spot with 13.3 per cent, even though the station had dropped 1.7 since the last survey.

Second was NOVA93.7, hosted by Nathan, Nat & Shaun, with 12.3 per cent, up 0.8, and third was Southern Cross Austereo’s MIX 94.5, hosted by Clairsy, Shane & Kymba, nabbing 12.0, down 0.7.

In the drive slot it was NOVA93.7 (Kate, Tim & Marty) which came first with 14.0 per cent. Behind it was SCA’s MIX94.5, hosted by Lisa & Pete, with 13.1 per cent, and just after Triple J with 12.4.

In brekkie radio down at the City of Churches, ABC891 easily nabbed first place with 18.4 per cent, up 0.4 from the last survey. ARN’s MIX102.3, hosted by Jodie & Soda, found a silver with a 13.7 per cent share and NOVA’s NOVA91.9, with Lewis & Lowe, was the last standing on the winner’s podium with a 12.1 share.

In the drive slot, it was ARN’s MIX102.3, Hughsey & Kate, first with 15.6, up a whopping 3.4 since the survey prior, with NOVA91.9, Kate, Tim & Marty, in second with 14.3 and FIVEaa in third with 11.8.
