Seven has the ratings X factor

Almost 1.4 million people tuned in to see Cat Vas booted off the X Factor last night, in a TV ratings victory for Seven.

In the talent show’s second results show of the series, Vas’ performance of Radiohead’s High and Dry (pictured) failed to clinch it for her. But it won the night for Seven, with 1.393 million fans tuning in across Australia’s five metro areas, according to figures from Oztam.

Nine’s Big Brother made less of an impact, coming in eighth spot with an audience of 918,000.

And Seven’s Mr Selfridge fell outside the top 10 most-watched shows, in 12th place with 781,000 people watching.

News and current affairs dominated the top 10, with Nine News pulling in an audience of 1.253 million, Seven News attracting 1.232 million, Seven’s Today Tonight winning 1.082 million and Nine’s A Current Affair scoring 1.076 million.

ABC News was next up, with 1.014 million people tuning in, followed by Home and Away on Seven, with 992,000.

Completing the top 10 was ABC1’s Australian Story, with an audience of 884,000, and ABC News Update, with 829,000.
