Seven dominates evening viewing

Seven strangled its competitors again last night, winning a commanding 30.9% share of total free-to-air audiences with My Kitchen Rules and Packed to the Rafters leading the charge.

Seven’s main channel share was more than 10 points greater than Nine’s 18.3% and dwarfed Ten’s 12.7%.

My Kitchen Rules wooed 1.916 million viewers last night and lead the 16-39 and 18-49 demographics as rival MasterChef: The Professionals pulled only 558,000 viewers.

MasterChef proved more popular with the 16-39 demo where it sat in 10th place with 188,000 viewers compared to 12th place in the 18-49 age group.

Seven’s Packed to the Rafters was Tuesday evening’s second most watched show with an audience of 1.325 million.

The family-focused drama came second in the important 16-39 and 18-49 demos, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

The Block: All Stars, which was up against MKR and MasterChef, sat in ninth place with 926,000 viewers.
