More surveys for regional radio

More surveys for regional radio

Regional radio stations are set to see the number of their radio surveys increase as Commercial Radio Australia (CRA) looks for research companies to conduct the reports.

CRA said the cost of surveys were prohibitive in some regional licence areas, resulting in fewer surveys for these areas.

The metro markets have eight surveys per year.

The new radio research protocol will allow regional stations to commission a ratings survey in conjunction with other commercial and public broadcasters in their licence area.

The radio stations will need to choose a research company from the yet to be established CRA approved list.

Research companies can apply for inclusion by emailing: mail@commercialradio.com.au

An overview of the new regional research methodology will be presented at the National Radio Conference in Brisbane on October 11. More details here.
