Million tune in to Gruen Planet return

The return of Gruen Planet amassed 1.023 million viewers last night, beating Nine’s Arrow and Ten’s Wonderland.

Gruen Planet was the third most watched program of the night behind Nine News (1.19 million) and Seven News (1.152 million).

Gruen helped elevate the ABC’s share of all free-to-air viewers to 21.2%, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

Other ABC programs in the top 10 included 7.30 (942,000), ABC News (898,000) and QI (840,000).

Nine’s Arrow rated 17th, pulling in 607,000 viewers.

Ten’s Wonderland, also in the 8.30pm time slot, was watched by 607,000 viewers down from 688,000 viewers the week before.

Seven’s special Malcom Naden: Australia’s Most Hunted sat in 15th spot with 709,000 viewers.

Slideshow was watched by 868,000 viewers. Nine’s Big Brother sat in 11th place with 805,000 viewers.

Seven won the night with a combined share of 29.7% ahead of Nine’s 25.8% and Ten’s 18.4%.

SBS took 5%.
