Merger and acquisition gun takes local Dentsu Aegis gig

Dentsu Aegis Network has named Kym Pfitzner from its Shanghai outfit the new chief operating officer in Australia and New Zealand.

Pfitzner will continue to hold his regional role as head of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) for Dentsu Aegis Network APAC and will step up to the role of ANZ COO from July 14.

Dentsu Aegis Network, the first truly global communications network for the digital age, has appointed Kym Pfitzner as Chief Operating Officer in Australia and New Zealand.

Kym joins Dentsu Aegis Network’s ANZ team from Shanghai, where for the past two years he has acted as COO for Dentsu Aegis Network China and Head of M&A for the group across APAC.

He first joined Aegis Media in 2003 as Regional CFO and Director of Corporate Development for APAC, a position he held until taking on his most recent role in Shanghai. During this time, Kym played an integral role in several significant acquisitions within the region. He has held a number of corporate, operational and finance roles within Australia and APAC throughout his career.

Luke Littlefield, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network ANZ, said: “Kym will be a great asset to our executive leadership team and I look forward to our group across ANZ benefiting from his experience and skill. We have an outstanding leadership team in place, from our agency brand heads to our core corporate functions, and as a group are continuing to strategically grow our operations in the region. Kym will take responsibility for some corporate functions for Dentsu Aegis Network ANZ and will continue to hold a regional role as Head of M&A for Dentsu Aegis Network APAC. He joins Dentsu Aegis Network ANZ from 14th July.
