Foxtel pulls plug on TV1 and SF, 35 jobs set to go

Popular Foxtel channels TV1 and SF will cease operations at the end of the year after their current deals with Foxtel expire.

Management at TV1 General Entertainment Partnership confirmed to B&T this afternoon that they were unable to agree a new carriage deal with Foxtel, and as a result, subscription TV brands TV1 and SF will cease on December 31.

The company employees 35 full-time staff with TV1 General Entertainment Partnership confirming that these jobs will be affected.

It’s beleived Foxtel will look to find replacements for the two channels and look to keep its most popular content from the channels.

TV1 has been on air in Australia since 1995, while SF launched in 2006.
