Ex-Denton collaborator Anita Jacoby to head ITV Studios

Former Zapruder’s Other Films exec Anita Jacoby has landed the role as head of ITV Studios in Australia, replacing the outgoing Leonie Lowe.

Jacoby rose to prominence as a producer on shows like 60 Minutes, and worked alongside Andrew Denton on shows like Enough Rope, the Gruen series and Elders, for 11 years before leaving when Zapruder merged with Cordell Jigsaw last year.

She has since joined the board of ACMA and will start the role of managing director of the studios, which make Please Marry My Boy, Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell and Paddock to Plate on September 30.

Lowe quit her role in April, and is planning to start her own production house.

Paul Buccieri, managing director ITV Studios International thanked Lowe for her service, and said: “Anita is both a talented creative and an extremely experienced producer. Her career spans almost all genres, a fantastic asset as we continue to grow our Australian business.

“ITV Studios Australia is a key element of our international operation and has an important part to play as we continue to progress building a strong international content business.

“I’m delighted Anita is joining us to lead the business into its next stage of growth.”

Jacoby added: “I’m thrilled to be joining ITV Studios, one of the most innovative and creative production companies in the world. I look forward to working alongside Paul Buccieri and the talented ITV teams, both locally and internationally.”
