Boost for international film production

Boost for international film production

Co-production on films in Australia and the UK has been given a boost with a new agreement between Screen Producers Australia and Pact in the UK.

The agreement – a Memorandum of Understanding – establishes a framework for better co-operation and exchange of information between the two organisations’ members and governing bodies.

The agreement also contains a commitment t help facilitate visiting delegations to the UK from Australia.

It follows international agreements between Screen Producers Australia and the Producers Guild of America and the Canadian Media Production Association.

Matthew Deaner, executive director at Screen Producers Australia, said: “There is a natural synergy between Australia and Britain based on cultural, production and regulatory affinities. We believe co-operation between our associations will further strengthen the opportunities for developing content that resonates with audiences internationally.”
