BMF snags Droga5’s creative director

Creative agency BMF have appointed Droga5’s creative director Cam Blackley as its new executive creative director.

This move is the second high-profile departure from Droga5 in a matter of months as Droga5’s chief strategy officer Justin Graham announced the move to M&C Saatchi at the end of last year.

The appointment has kicked off 2014 for BMF as Blackley brings with him 20 years of experience in the creative industry.

“Cam's leadership skills and understanding of Aussie culture will be a great addition to the BMF team," Warren Brown, BMF creative founder, said.

“I'm delighted Cam is joining BMF,” Dominic Stinton, BMF CEO, added.

“Not only is he a top bloke, but his experience working for different agencies in different markets will bring another fresh perspective to the leadership team, as BMF continues to diversify and create world class work.”

Over his career Blackley has worked on a number of well-known brands including Kraft, Cadbury, Virgin Australia and The Economist.

He is well renowned for his work, having a coveted Black Pencil for the internationally recognised ‘The Million’ for The New York Department of Education.

Blackley heads BMF’s creative team, which includes Brown, Sydney creative director Justin Ruben and Melbourne creative director Carlos Furnari.

Blackley will replace husband and wife team Laura Sampedro and Carlos Alija who are moving to London at the end of this month.
