558,000 people tune in for a night out in the Cross

A night out in Sydney’s Kings Cross last night on ABC saw 558,000 people switching on their tellys.

The documentary on the new lock out laws, Dead Drunk: Lights out in the Cross?,  and how they were affecting the Cross aired at 8.30pm last night with Sydneysiders and Melbournians the most interested in seeing how the new laws were going, 179,000 and 175,000 viewers respectively, according to OzTam preliminary ratings.

Home and Away on Seven was back in fifth position after Seven’s and Nine’s news in the top 20 from yesterday, with 970,000 viewers.

The total combined share saw tough competition as Seven and Nine battled for number one, and ABC and Ten pushed and shoved for third place.

Nine ended up just in front of Seven for the top spot with a total combined share of 27.8%.

Seven was only 0.9% behind Nine with a total share of 26.9%.

Nine’s main channel scored a slightly higher total network share, 20.4%, than Seven’s primary station share of 18.4%.

Nine news was the most viewed program for last night, seeing 1.254 million tuning in at 6pm to see what was happening nationally.

Seven’s news, also at 6pm, brought in 1.058 million viewers.

Nine managed to grab seven spots in the top 20 shows from yesterday, with the two episodes of The Big Bang Theory pulling in 959,000 and 945,000 viewers, less than the million plus from last night.

Seven only saw four spots in the top 20 going to its programs yesterday with Tom and Ben’s Singapore Sling at 7.30pm, with the news and Home and Away taking out the others.

Another tough battle for bronze ensued between Ten and ABC last night, however Ten darted past ABC scoring a total share of 20.3% with 14.8% going to Ten’s primary channel.

ABC had a total share of 19%, with ABC1 nabbing 12.8%.

Ten saw five spots in the top 20 from yesterday with NCIS being the network’s top watched show pulling in 789,000 viewers.

ABC saw four of its shows in the top 20 yesterday, including the news and the 7.30 report, as well as Foreign Correspondent and the Dead Drunk documentary.

SBS came fifth with 6.1%, with SBSOne grabbing 5.2%.
