A cryptocurrency ad starring Matt Damon has gone viral online months later for being cringe.
In October last year, Damon appeared in an ad for Crypto in a bold movie star move. Before Damon jumped in cryptocurrency was mostly getting support from influencers, not Oscar winners.
Remember when Kim Kardashian was slaughtered online last year after promoting Ethereum Max?
In the ad Damon prances around endorsing crypto as a leading future currency, he even says, “fortune favours the brave.”
Basically – don’t be scared to invest in crypto.
Then things get a bit weirder he compares buying crypto to climbing Mount Everest or heading to space – a bit of a stretch but okay.
Clearly, Damon is going for the big sell here!
Still, the ad flew mostly under the radar until it appeared during an NFL game on Sunday and then it exploded online and people weren’t loving it.
I think Matt Damon just told me I can go to Mars if I buy Crypto.

saddest thing about Matt Damon's macho-baiting crypto pitch where the viewer must ACT NOW or he's a weak pussy is that this is a top 3 classic pitch all financial schemes have used to goad men into forking over their paltry savings. Nothing has changed in 150 years

I like how the Matt Damon crypto ads are like "what do you mean you're scared that crypto might be a giant scam, what are you, a giant pussy"

At Spider-Man and before the previews we got Matt Damon in an ad for Crypto and my nephew yelled “whatever, Mark Wahlberg” and honestly I cannot imagine a better roast.

Of course, the reason the ad is getting so much flack is because people still don’t trust crypto and laws and regulations haven’t caught up with the currency to make it safe for everyone to invest in.
So seeing a very rich Damon trying to convince ordinary people into taking a financial risk doesn’t feel quite right- it feels cringe.
