Vodafone Floats In As Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Major Partner

Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras has today announced Vodafone as both a new Major Partner and the Official & Exclusive Mobile Service Sponsor of the 2018 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival.

As a strong advocate for a diverse and inclusive Australia, Vodafone was a supporter of the Australian Marriage Equality campaign. In 2017 Vodafone launched ‘Connect’, an employee led network that champions equality, individuality and offers guidance and support to employees and friends in the community.

Terese Casu, SGLMG CEO said, “Vodafone’s continual encouragement to support an open, collaborative and inclusive environment in the workplace, as well as their support for the wider LGBTIQ community makes us proud to announce Vodafone as our new major partner for Mardi Gras’  40th anniversary year.

“I’m looking forward to working with Vodafone seeing some of the incredible things they bring to the coming Festival,” said Casu.

Vodafone Director of Human Resources Vanessa Hicks is proud to work with Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras in an official capacity this year.

“At Vodafone we believe in equality for everyone. As a business, we’re committed to supporting our employees, customers and the wider community by fostering a safe and inclusive environment that celebrates people regardless of their background, gender or sexuality,” Ms Hicks said.

“We are incredibly excited to give our staff the opportunity to show their support by marching in the Sydney Mardi Gras parade this year and we are proud to be part of Mardi Gras following what has been a historic movement and landmark year for equality in Australia.”
