Supercars Appoints Adrenalin As It Develops New App

Supercars has appointed Sydney-based digital agency Adrenalin to deliver a new mobile application across iOS and Android platforms, set for launch in early 2017.

The Virgin Australia Supercars Championship (formerly known as V8 Supercars) is the premier motorsport category in Australasia and one of Australia’s biggest sports.

As Supercars continues its digital evolution, it looks to offer fans a digital experience to increase their engagement with the sport.

Following a competitive pitch, Adrenalin was selected to be the application development agency tasked with designing, developing, launching and maintaining the new Supercars mobile application.

The new app promises to surprise and delight Supercars fans, bringing races to life in a way they’ve never experienced before.

Supercars managing director, Matt Braid, said, “We are continually seeking to optimise our fans’ experience and bring the excitement and thrill of the on-track experience to life. A mobile app was naturally the next step in our digital strategy.

“Working with Adrenalin over the past 18 months has given us an insight into their strategic thinking and technical capabilities. We are excited to be extending our partnership with them for the project.”

Supercars has an existing relationship with Adrenalin, who created the Supercars website, which was named Best Sports Digital Platform in B&T’s Ministry of Sports Marketing Awards 2016.

Bernie Johnson, director of Adrenalin, added, “We are delighted to be working further with the team at Supercars as they continue to push boundaries to remain at the forefront of digital in the sporting industry.”
