Social Playground Acquires World’s First Snapchat Printer

Social activation agency Social Playground has added a new toy to its box with the recent acquisition of Tap2Print, the world’s first photo booth for Snapchat.

Aimed at engaging event attendees and inspiring them to share branded Snapchat content live from events, Tap2Print is a compact yet high-tech printer that prints each Snapchat photo instantly.

Every user is required to follow the brand’s Snapchat account in order to send and print their snap. The addition of brand-specific geofilters ensures that every snap captured and shared carries the brand’s logo or event branding.

Social Playground has acquired the global rights to the product and is currently hiring Tap2Print for events as well licensing the technology to brands, activation agencies and photo booth companies around the world.

A recent event with The Iconic saw a 50 per cent increase in the brand’s Snapchat following over the four-day activation, attributed to Tap2Print’s live in-store printing.

Annabelle Davidson, director at Social Playground, said the agency was incredibly excited to launch this product in Australia and globally.

“Despite competition from Instagram and Facebook, Snapchat continues to build a loyal user-base and is considerably harder for brands to penetrate,” she said.

“Tap2Print provides brands with an organic way to drive users to capture and share content from their events and activations on Snapchat.

“From a consumer-perspective, it’s a fun alternative to the traditional photo activation. Millennial consumers are already taking snaps – this just ensures the snap is tied back to the brand and increases the brand’s following organically.”
