The kings and queens of tennis are descending on Melbourne Park, and Seven’s new app is launching just in time for fans.

The 7Tennis app becomes available on Telstra TV today, putting viewers in control and allowing them to choose any of the 16 televised courts at the Australian Open on their big screens.

The exclusive live and free online coverage from Seven’s 7Tennis app allows fans to watch over 2000 hours and 500 matches of world class tennis streamed live, including the Channel 7/7TWO/7mate live broadcast.

Seven’s chief revenue officer Kurt Burnette said, “The summer of tennis via our 7Tennis app will be seen by more Australians in more ways than ever before.

“With the 7Tennis app now on Telstra TV our viewers will get even more opportunity for the big TV experience of all the televised courts at the Australian Open. This partnership of two powerful Australian brands will also deliver our advertisers even more meaningful ways to connect.”

Telstra’s partnership with Seven’s broadcast of the Summer of Tennis series coincides with the Telstra Air Free Wi-Fi Offer.  The offer allows eligible Telstra customers to access Australia’s largest Wi-Fi Network for free over the summer period, meaning they can catch the action on the 7Tennis app at thousands of Telstra Air hotspots across the country.  Eligible Telstra customers can sign up for the Free Wi-Fi Offer by visiting Telstra.com/freewifi.

Telstra director of At Home Media, Serkan Honeine, added that the 7Tennis App offered customers a top notch viewing experience both at home and on the move.

“We’re excited about the tennis experience that we’ve created in partnership with Seven. The 7Tennis app provides our customers with an exciting new way to experience Seven’s Summer of Tennis and Australian Open coverage,” he said.

“Whether you’re watching the tennis at home on Telstra TV or on your smartphone when you’re out and about on Telstra Air, this app will keep you closer to all the action than ever before.”
