Protein To Handle Retail Roll-Out Of Recycling Initiative Return-It

Sydney brand and digital agency Protein has been appointed to handle the retail and digital roll-out of recycling company Return-It, which has just been announced as the container collection network for the ACT.

Return-It awarded the work to the 17-year strong agency, following Protein’s tender support and brand development of the retail concept.

The public-facing recycling initiative aims to change the way people interact with container returns in a retail environment.

Return-It managing director David Singh said: “Our approach to maximising customer convenience includes delivering a range of collection point formats across the territory, designed to suit the needs of different members of the community.

“It was Protein’s previous work and their approach to re-imagining the way the public interact with traditional brands that caught our eye.

“We believe that the scheme requires a creative partner who will not only exceed expectation, but has the digital and technology acumen to help rollout this experience.”

Collection point formats will include depots where containers are counted on the spot so that customers can get an immediate cash refund, as well as express collection points where customers can drop off bags of containers and have the associated refund amounts automatically credited to their account within a few days.

Protein creative director Galvin Scott Davis said: “We are excited about collaborating on the great work that Return-It are doing by creating a customer and brand experience unlike anything else in its category.

“The opportunity for us to take a traditionally industrial thought-process and create a brand, digital and educational retail experience is a welcome challenge.”
