PR Edge Behind Launch of Dating Site For Singles In Uniform

While men and women in uniform have always been highly appealing, a study undertaken for the UK-based bespoke dating site Uniform Dating found our everyday heroes can be hard pressed to find love.

But help is now at hand with the launch of the site Down Under.

Last week Karl Stefanovic donned a police hat on The Today Show in the name of the cause and The Project’s Peter Helliar queried whether wearing a ‘onesie’ might count. The answer is ‘no’, but non-uniform wearers are welcome to find their own hero on the dating site.

News.com.au also dug deep to bring the issue to the fore via their national readership network.

Uniformdating.com saw registrations drastically increase in the 24 hours after the launch of PR.

Uncovering the insight that Australia’s service men and women struggle to maintain a relationship because of their job formed the basis of PR Edge’s plan for Uniformdating.com’s arrival in Australia. Research confirmed uniformed professionals are our surprise lonely hearts – a quarter of uniform wearers admitted they’d seen a relationship come to an end because of long working hours.

Uniformdating.com’s brand manager, Amy Coles, says while it may surprise, it is indeed fact that surgeons are often short of a date.

“It goes to show that when it comes to finding love it’s much more than skin deep and it takes more than a lovely uniform. In fact, these professions can often make potential dates worry whether they’ll get the attention they require.

“Our everyday heroes – doctors, nurses, military personnel, firefighters and lifeguards – well, they need a partner who’s prepared to be a little flexible in order to allow them to continue to save lives while falling in love!”

PR Edge managing partner, Fee Townshend, says advertising types should be aware that despite the long hours spent back at the office, a black t-shirt or plaid shirt do not actually count as a uniform.

“The reality is there are no true heroes in this business – but maybe there is a chance for love at Uniformdating.com.”
