Pope Offends Rabbit Breeders

Rabbit breeders in Germany  are upset with Pope Francis who last week came out on the subject of birth control and said that Catholics should refrain from ‘”breeding like rabbits” .

Pope Francis said that Catholics should instead practice “responsible parenting” by using Church-approved forms of birth control.

But the president of the central council of German rabbit breeders,Erwin Leowsky, told news agency DPA the next day that the Pope had maligned rabbits all across Germany [and probably the world]. He said that only rabbits which live in the wild are sexually overactive.

He said those in captivity have tamer reproductive habits.

Leowsky said that the Pope should resist  stooping to lepus-phobic  cliches and  allow Catholics to use contraception.
