On Friday 8th March, B&T celebrated International Women’s Day in style with lunch at ARIA Sydney, celebrating some of the leading female creatives for large brands and agencies.

The ‘An Ode to Mentors Lunch’, sponsored by Adobe, was opened by B&T’s CEO, David Hovenden, who talked about the importance of International Women’s Day, with some talk on Kylie Jenner thrown in there too.

Suzanne Steel, MD of Adobe Australia and New Zealand, talked to the issues surrounding diversity.

She said: “Diversity is critical in building a digital talent pipeline. We need to be encouraging kids to think about what they can do, and that it’s not just about gender – it’s about diversity”.

Steel continued: “Companies who are diverse are more successful and punch above their weight. We are making headway, but we need to move much quicker”.

Speaking to the predominantly female attendees, she said: “It’s on us as female leaders in business to lead the charge and sponsor female talent and coach and mentor them and provide that thought leadership”.

The attendees all brought their mentor along with them, as a thank you for helping them, backing them and inspiring them along the way.
