Social media unleashes on McDonald’s ‘Happy’ mascot

Social media made sure McDonald’s knew exactly what it thought of the fast food chain’s latest mascot for its Happy Meal.

Deemed “terrifying”, “spooky” and “creepy”, the extra wide mouth of the Happy Meal box seems to be too much for Twitter to handle.

According to Adage, the new mascot, called Happy, is trying to encourage kids to eat more fruit and veg.

One Twitter user admitted it could work as it could scare kids out of eating McDonald’s.

Not everyone seems to think the new mascot is terrifying, one Twitter user even described Happy as “cute”.

McDonald’s appears to have jumped on board with this with multiple Happy’s scouring the internet to see what was written about them and stumbling upon someone calling them “cute”.
