“Is This A Joke?” Fast Food Chain Runs Out Of Product, Tells Customers To BYO

What the hell’s going on with the planet’s chicken fast food chains?

Following KFC in the UK running out of its seasoned poultry early last year causing one of the funniest PR apology campaigns in sometime, comes news today that Popeyes has run out of buns across its 3000-plus stores in the US.

The fried chicken purveyor is now urging customers to bring their own bread or buns to make one of its famed chicken sandwiches in-store.

Popeyes unveiled the new chicken sandwich menu item in mid-August but following unprecedented customer demand managed to sell-out in just two weeks.

In a tweet, the company declared: “Try our new BYOB! It’s basically The Sandwich! Only no mayo. Or pickles. And you bring your own bun… really it’s just three tenders…”

However, some Popeyes customers aren’t happy with the idea of BYO buns and have taken to social media to air their dissatisfaction.
